ANN ARBOR/YPSI/SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN MEETUP!!!!11one!

Everyone seems up for meeting at Dalat, then going to a bar.
Which is good.
While I previously proposed Friday, a friend is having a birthday party and much as he's a cool, social guy, it's doubtful that he'll want to come to a meet-up.
Which is bad.
I'd like to reschedule for Saturday, which would be good.
I'm not sure how many of you would otherwise be at the Digable Planets show, which would be bad.
There will be free Frogurt, which is good. But it's cursed, which is bad.

I might be able to make a brief appearance on Saturday. Ypsi sure is a pain in the ass to navigate at night for an out-of-towner such as myself, though. Is this place near that BW3 and those nudie bars?

In fact, it's on Michigan Ave, about a block from That Nudie Bar (there's only one).

To anyone who's wondering about the food at Dalat: it's really, really good. Affordable, too. The non-soup noodle dishes that come with chunks of spring roll on top are great, as are all the soups (sorry, my food-Vietnamese is failing me).

These meetups - they're not like being online are they? I'd hate to have to lurk at a nearby table, never introduce a topic of conversation and limit myself to 1 or 2 awkward comments all night.

What time are we talking about here? I'll check with ibeji and see if we can make it - and then we'll see if Slothrop and Dirtmonster can be dragged along forthwith & posthaste.

Where'd the kid shoot out, Emperor Yamamoto's Eggs? Hopefully not Angell Hall - that place is SO unsanitary (the MLB would be way better for birthin' some babies). Congratulations to all of the fertile Michiganders!

I drove past Dalat this morning in a pretty sucessful attempt to avoid horrible construction on east I-94. Think I can make it, but what time?

True story, Frog. I am at MSU. tho' not so lofty as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Still a grad student.

Sorry! Baby (3 weeks old) & Mom were a little sick, but 3-year old was his normal self. Not a good combination. I honestly had a guilty dream about my beloved #15 that night, though.
