The AskMe front page seems to lag in updating with published questions.

This thread's "next thread" link leads to an anonymous question about boner problems, and the "next thread" from there leads to another anonymous one. But they don't show up on the front page of AskMe.

About five minutes later, they're there (although their timestamps are from 15-ish minutes ago). I have caching turned off completely in my browser because I do web dev stuff, so that's not it.

I think the front AskMe page is generated at set intervals that are pretty close together but it's not dynamically rebuilt each time. Both of those questions appear on the main AskMe page now.

jessamyn, got it. I imagined it was dynamic because I refreshed it and the comment count changed on the DVD transcoding question, but the new published questions still didn't show up, so I thought maybe there was a glitch in the matrix.

The front page is generated every ten minutes, and I forgot to include code on the anon-approval page to flush the cache when a question is approved. I'll fix it after thanksgiving.

(comment counts are generated every 60 seconds)
