Please change this to P > 0.005 that I am satisfied with the results of this thread—Ed.
Hey interrobang, I think you mean P < /strong> .005, don't you? (And I note that AMA style "does not use a zero to the left of the decimal point, since statistically it is not possible to prove or disprove the null hypothesis completely when only a sample of the population is tested.")
I'm leaving this comment here because the thread it refers to is now closed, along with half the other fucking threads in MetaTalk. Matt, I love you, man, but you're way, way, way too heavy-handed with this thread-closing thing. I can understand it when there's a huge, nasty pile-on, but you seem to just decide people are having too much fun or being too irrelevant or something. I understand fun isn't the purpose of MetaTalk, but trying to exclude it entirely is both hopeless and obnoxious.>

Whoa, how did that happen? Didn't show up on live preview. I guess my indignation munged the HTML. Anyway, that bit addressed to interrobang should read:
Hey interrobang, I think you mean P < .005, don't you?br> [i.e., less than rather than greater than]>

lh, the trick is that using HTML entities is cool and shows up in live preview BUT once you actually preview the comment using the preview button, it changes them back to actual angle brackets, so you'd have to manually replace them in your comment. Also, posting a follow up comment to an entirely different MeTa thread seems like a really bad way to communicate ideas. Let me know if you'd like me to tidy up or remove any of your comments.

I think it's a really good way to communicate the idea that it's a really bad idea to close threads for no good reason. Screwing up the HTML, however, was not so good. Thanks for the pointer.

Oh! I'm using IE7 Beta 1, and the comment works fine in Firefox. Sorry, probably a browser bug, although I have been using this browser for almost exactly 2 months and haven't had a single issue, plus I can post in metatalk and askme with no problems! But in any case, sorry for the false alarm.

helios: I suspected as much, I have the same exact problem when trying to preview or post on the blue.

The error I receive is
Error Occurred While Processing Request
Invalid parameter type.
The value specified, "contributepost_comment_preview.cfm", must be a valid Integer.
The comment I tried to post was
Roger Dodger: I watched the movie while having the script by my side (no french subtitles on the DVD either) and just paused and translated when necessary. It's not that distracting, actually - and of course you can watch it a second time without the script.
