Los Angeles meetup

I challenge you to a meet-up! It's been quite a while since one was organized and it's high time that another one take place.

eek! I didn't know everyone would want to do something so soon.

I am much better off doing something on the weekend after next.

sound like a better plan? it would allow us more time to co-ordinate our wardrobe choices.

Hollywood is a madhouse on the weekends -- it would be murderous to try to get parking on a Friday or Saturday night, methinks. I'd say a weeknight evening for Boardner's, or a different location for a weekend (the Golden Gopher downtown seemed to work well last time...but I can't remember if that was a weekend or weeknight gathering.)

In any case, someone pick a date -- scodyboy and I want to get up to Big Sur in the next few weeks, so I'll try to work around a meetup date.

The 20th SUCKs for me. Most of the rest of next week is still open though.

The Golden Gopher was a cool place but not great for photographs if people are looking for that kind of thing.

I'm in. I can pretty much walk to Boardner's from home, so that location is fine with me. Shall we tentatively say Wednesday the 19th? That way Hollywood weekend parking is avoided, and we can accomodate willnot's conflict on the 20th.

If people want to do something on the weekend instead (as was punch_the_mayor's request), may I suggest something in West Hollywood? There is an inexpensive parking structure which always has a shit-ton of spaces on King's Road and Santa Monica, and there are many fine dining/drinking establishments within a couple of blocks.

The 19th is 50/50 for me (I'll be radioactive that day -- for reals! I'll tell everyone the story!), so I vote for the_bone's suggestion of doing something in parking-ample West Hollywood that Friday or Saturday night (21st or 22nd). Care to suggest an establishment, Monsieur Bone? (And I presume spacekitty will be joining us, too?)

Basix is awesome... good food, good drinks, not a lot of parking drama (I'll check to make sure they can accomodate a large party). Saturday the 22nd, anyone?

That's right; it was a couple of days after I moved here... that was a busy time, and the whole brunch episode slipped my mind.

So, what time will work for everyone? I don't think they take reservations, so we'll have to try and not be on "Los Angeles time." :) If people want to do 8:00, that would be cool; it's a good time for the folks who will not have eaten dinner prior, and early enough that the partiers can still go out afterwards.

weekend/week after . . . I just wanted to say that I'm pretty unavailable next week but anything the week after (the week starting the 24th) is fine.

wednesday the 26th at boardner's/basix (I haven't been to either so I am not one to be making decisions) sound good?
