Music search searches AskMe July 15, 2006 7:31 PM   Subscribe

Would it be possible to have the search bar in Music actually search Music.? It seems to query for Ask., at the moment. I'm looking for a printer song, and am so, so lazy.

Bonus points if anyone knows what song I'm talking about. A song composed entirely of printer noises, perhaps?

Well, there was a great song with typewriter sounds, but that may not be what you're looking for.

you could just use the yahoo site search, which is what that search bar is supposed to go to.

This is the problem I'd like to solve. I usually just download all the mefi music and listen to it while I work via iTunes. Sometimes I'll come across a song I really like and I'll want to add it to a playlist. I have to either 1) find the song on whatever page it's on (not always super tough since I usually don't get too far behind, but bad if I'm listening to a song from several days ago) or 2) search, somehow. Songs that have been listed on playlists seem to have a better chance of having gotten picked up by Yahoo or Google search but often it seems their indexes don't update that quickly. You can do a search by making sure you use site:music.metafilter.com but Google doesn't seem to have much there yet. Yahoo has more but their results are perplexing.

Are you thinking of this Scanjet music video? It was linked to in a thread in the blue, I think.
