Calgary gathering

So there've been two attempts at a Calgary gathering (1 and 2) - anyone up for a third?

Not sure if it is poor etiquette for a lurker to post about these things, but I just moved to Calgary a few weeks ago and would love to meet some strange, new people.

Gompa suggested The Wildwood Pub in the earlier thread - I can't say that I know Calgary very well, so that's an idea. I've been to the Ship & Anchor (it's nice but rather crowded), and have heard about Bottlescrew Bill's Old English Pub, which simply sounds irresistable. Thoughts?

And a time - this Saturday, 9 Sept?

Could we do it during a weeknight by chance? I have to be in Lethbridge Fri, Sat, Sun. I know this is lame-ville, but I really want to do one of these right! What about this (or next) Thursday night?

Thursday is fine for me (though my job is physically exhausting, so I can't promise the most sparkling wit). Hopefully some more Calgary Mefites will notice this thread!

Thursday (or even Wednesday or Tuesday) is fine with me as well. It wouldn't be the first time I went to work on two hours sleep.

I am going to email some Calgary mefites towards this thread - what night do we want to do this? My vote is for August 14th (so we can rustle up some more people) at 7:00 at Bottlescrew Bill's. Bring a Camera!

Wish I could make it, but alas, I don't have a ride from Lethbridge. Is there anyone else from/in Lethbridge who wants to carpool?
