Metafilter stats are online. November 1, 2001 3:03 PM   Subscribe

Metafilter stats are online. Traffic dropped only slightly from September's unbelievable growth, and the jump in user signups was minimal compared to the previous month. Days from September and October dominate the top 20 charts.

waxpancake, sir, forgive me for saying how guilty I feel about all the trouble you've gone to but - yet! - how interesting and encouraging - not the most desirable effect for me, admittedly - your presentation of the stats always is. Now off to find what was so special about September 20... Thanks!

I think he was saying "Thanks for nothing, asshole. I love it! Not. Not not." Which I guess is good.

Here are the MetaFilter traffic stats for the month. 1.7 million pageviews (higher than September).

It looks like a bunch of August's threads/comments have been mis-classified as September's in that first link. Maybe there's another reason, but the sum of those two months fits the trend a lot better than each alone. Bug?

I don't think so... September's traffic was insane because of the WTC bombing, which attracted a lot of attention to us. Most of those people apparently stuck around and kept posting. If you can pinpoint any mistake, I'll take a look at it.

wasn't August also when mathowie went away (and put MeFi into Sleep mode)?

Duh - yes, of course. Sorry! (unless, of course, cause and effect have been misunderstood for decades and there was some huge wavefunction that, on measuring these results, collapsed reality into a self consistent history - maybe a Schroedinbug).

i think we all know who to blame for the 103 search engine requests for bukkake.
