Get your Halloween started early! Meet fellow MetaFilterians! Make a spectacle of yourself!

Info on the site is kinda vague (like they don't have brains...oh, wait! ZOMBIES). It looks like the event starts some time between 3:30 and 5:00, near the Washington Monument.

Lemme know if you're lurching, so we can coordinate some kind of meeting point. My contact info is in my profile; shoot me an email, and I'll send you my cell phone number. I have no idea of how many people will be attending, but you should RSVP via the site, too, since they're actually getting a Park Service permit for this thing and need to know how many are coming.

(props to now i'm piste for bringing this to my attention)

I would love to do this, but don't think I'm theatrical enough.

I'll be there in spirit.

To tristeza, our resident STD expert: can you get an STD from eating brains, or are you protected by the blood-brain barrier?

Hmm, I'll have to check - tertiary syphilis rots the brain, but maybe you only catch THE MADNESS when you actually eat said brain.

Tristeza, thanks for that link. Double plus awesome!

Mmm... Brains.

If I Had An Anus posts for me. Sounds like fun though.

BTW, you can get Kreutzfeld-Jakob (kuru/mad cow) from eating brains. So be careful out there!

Awwwww, I'd come if I weren't working this weekend. Also, sorry for being such a curmudgeon, but don't these events seem even more fun and, uh, effective when conducted nowhere near halloween? And without no steenking permits? No? Okay.
Brains.

Is this a MEFI zombie gathering? Because if not, why is it here? Or can we just start inviting MeFites to everything through MeTa now?

Y'all are invited to attend my intervention.

My ZOMBIE intervention!

jessamyn seems to think such postings are OK, mkultra. What, I can invite MeFites to a bar only if it's closed to non-MeFites? We've gathered for movies, plays, concerts, lectures, and symposia before; given the popularity of zombie posts on MetaFilter, this seems like an appropriate venue.

The correct answer to my question was, "Because: Hey - Zombies!"

Because it's undead?

Better, still.

Am I missing the difference?

It was a proposed change to existing Meetup plans, but I'll grant that the difference is slight. My, it's only been two years since I had a change of opinion about policy- the height of hypocrisy! Your posting history runs about as far as mine. Am I to understand it's been a pillar of consistency?

More importantly- get a new fucking hobby. You must be really bored.

I guess mkultra is out.

He who lives in an inconsistent pillar . . .

We'll be at yet another wedding in Pennsylvania this weekend, but we look forward to pictures of the mass carnage. Have fun you crazy undead kids!

DAMNIT. I would love to attend this, but I've got to have rehearsal that afternoon because I've already got plans later that evening. This is the second lurch that I've missed, too. GRRR.

I just saw this itinerary for the lurch posted elsewhere.
