I'm pretty much a definite. Let me know if you need a ride from SF.

Seasonal beer is pumpkin, and pretty much like all the other Tied House beers it's interesting but not terribly exceptional. Remember to look outside, too, since they shove big groups out there pretty often.

Just to up the hell out of the ante:

Pursuant to this MetaChat thread, I am taking donations right now (via PayPal, to napthene (at) yahoo dot youknowtherest) to buy cortex a plane ticket to the MeetUp.

We need $138 $123.74 to put cortex on a Southwest flight.

That's right: it's Import Cortex Day! Chip in one or five or ten bucks, then come to the MeetUp and meet the man. The myth. The legend.

cortex has provisionally agreed to this madness, so, yes, this really is serious. I am taking donations at napthene@yahoomailproduct, and, to show that I'm serious, I'm starting things off with a contribution of exactly $14.26.

If you needed a reason, now you have one: it's going to be That One Meetup Where They Flew Cortex In, Holy Shit. And who wants to miss that?

What happens to scrump's $14.26?
posted by JDC8 at 9:19 PM on November 27, 2006

It went towards the cost of the ticket. I'm damn proud of my $14.26, thankyouverymuch.

In exchange, I'd like two-and-a-half bars of "mathowie's community weblog".

I've just got off the phone with wilky . We've been discussing if we should go or not. She's worried that we're too n00b to MeFi, not cool enough, too young (both old enough to drink). She's too shy to post to MetaTalk, but I think we decided that we're gonna try and make it if she finds something nice to wear.

I ain't goin' without her. We both got on to MetaFilter this spring because of the benevolence of a veteran Mefite. I would like to have a drink in his name (I will have to look it up, though).

Oh Mister Cheese, you are a willis. Yes, we'll try and head over. I do love beer!

You should totally go, you too. There's no such thing as too newb or too young or insufficiently cool, seriously.

Also, calling someone a willis is fantastic.

The answer to this question is YES, OF COURSE.

If I was not in Tokyo, I'd join y'all as I have an office in Mountain View.

I should be there so long as nothing breaks at work tomorrow.
