The Scottish Mefi Meetup - a new chapter in world history.
Last time, I popped up to Edinburgh for a bit of festival, and the meetup was scheduled for the day after I left. Now, I'm in Edinburgh for work this week, but scheduled to leave the day before the meetup.

Blimey, handee - bad timing!
Not sure if I'm going to make it myself - may have a visiting Dad, not sure yet.

Scottish Mefites who can't make the meetup can inject a bit of Christmas Youtube cheer into their lives with the new Irn-Bru advert.

He was up for it, but he's not visiting after all. Would've been risky though - don't think I could've handled his posts on folding bikes, the history of chocolate manufacture in the UK and Buddy Holly.

If you mean folks who have parents and possibly grandparents who are also MeFi members, jack_mo, I can assure you that there indeed are intergenerational MeFi users.

Please drink a) Irn Bru mixed with cheap vodka (dear god what have i done?) b) Tennant's Lager (horrible, yes, but tradition is an important thing) or c) Blood of the Bull red wine (from Bulgaria!) until Very Bad Things begin to happen, then escape on foot down to the promenade at Portobello, and pee in the Firth while smoking Silk Cuts. The ghost of wonderchickens past will pee alongside you, and all will be right with the world.

We're meeting in our fair capital city at the cameo bar (which is substantially less wanky than the filmhouse) at 5ish on saturday , before any of you complain about what a long way it is, please consider that i have to walk ALL THE WAY from Tollcross for this stellar event.
