Something weird is going on.

I find the doubled tags on the first post, coupled with the complete lack of tags on the second, interesting as well.

At last, some cunning bastard's got round the two-week limit.

wow, I don't think I've ever seen that happening before. I closed the second post, but people will still be able to see it.

Good thing you caught that. There's a devil's chance it might've gone unnoticed forever if you hadn't.

wow. that was bizarro. good thing jess was able to remedy it quickly

Something weird indeed! What kind of freak-o wears a blazer in this day and age?
posted by serazin at 9:00 PM on February 25, 2007

Now we start chanting "IMG tag, IMG tag, IMG tag," right? For pics of people in blazers? Right?

I think he wants to rock an 80s Elvis Costello - which I heartily approve of, actually.
posted by serazin at 9:18 PM on February 25, 2007

Oh well. Probably a weird double hit of the post button that allowed the second one through because the first one wasn't done being submitted yet. First time it's happened as far as I know.

And for the pastel-suited jackals, of course.

And assless chaps.

actually, it's a sockpuppet. see, there are two of him, but one of them has the famed "intangible character" stuck on at the end. It isn't visible, doesn't register as a space or anything, but it makes a difference to the login. when creating your account, just hit alt+F4 at any point and you'll create this intangible charcter (in windows. command+q on a mac). of course, you'll have to type it in any time you want to login with the username.

shmegegge, i so fell for that.

All chaps are "assless". That's why the aren't called pants.

Although "assless chaps" makes for more entertaining imagery.

I wonder how many posts a script could make before AskMe's two week post limit detection kicked in. Might be worth $5 to someone.

My girlfriend busted me on the "assless chaps" gaffe the other day. That's being overly pedantic about a great phrase. "Assless chaps" is simply a much funnier way of saying "wearing chaps without putting on a pair of jeans first." So keep on keepin' on, Cold Chief.

(My girlfriend also knows a man who was shot in the ass while standing outside a gay bar in assless chaps -- and any telling of the story without the phrase "assless chaps" is just bad storytelling).

It was my understanding that chaps were pants. Exposed ass is simply a fashion choice. Additional pants are optional.

"wool sock" said "Additional pants are optional."

Heh. Heh heh. Hee hee hee hee hee.

Oh my.

I served with one of those assless chaps in the RAF in the war, don'tcha know? Cheeky, the fellows in the mess called him. Bit of a rum bugger, truth be told, but by Golly, I never knew a better rear gunner.

I'm glad at least someone appreciates my pant-less philosophy, but my biggest concern is simply where is quonsar?

I've been off-planet for a couple years, but when I last checked in he (it?) was a cornerstone of the community. But I don't see him (it?) any more. Where is quonsar?!?
posted by wool sock at 1:52 AM on February 26, 2007

Where you least expect him.

Granted, but I have alien secrets to help quonsar with the gross obesity issue. We've all seen the photos...

Like bob said, your understanding was wrong. Chaps go over your pants, to protect them. All chaps are assless. See here.

Nonsense. No chaps have rear ends, I'll grant you, but asslessness is an attitude.

Don't be obtuse. Assless Chaps was clearly the name of the town.

I thought that was bears. There's a reason he's standing with his back to the wall.
posted by languagehat at 10:45 AM on February 26, 2007

When you're "grossly obese", you are definitely NOT assless. I know from personal experience. And wool socks don't help. Again, personal experience. And you don't want to know what quonsie does with socks.

*bumps bellies with quonsar*

Also, I thought Prince Charles was the ultimate "assless chap".

languagehat might be an "assless chap". If he wasn't, he'd be an asshat.

Would a blazer be appropriate dress at a gay bar? Or would it get you shot in the ass? Idle minds want to know.
