Wake for Vonnegut in Ann Arbor/Ypsi April 12, 2007 3:56 AM   Subscribe

I think that Kurt Vonnegut would have approved of commemorating his death during Happy Hour. Corner Brewery, Ann Arbor/Ypsi, Friday, April 13, 6:00 pm. Or get there earlier and save us a table.

This isn't strictly a MeFi event, but since Vonnegut was an influence on many of us, anybody is welcome as a friend. If you need a ride from Ann Arbor, contact info's in my profile.

At the risk of scaring others off, I think I'll be there.
I'll just come after work, since I'm down in Ypsi anyway.

(Too bad that the Corner Brewery doesn't have the Blackheath Sweet Stout that ABC does. Guess I'll content myself with alt.)

Threw a reference to the location in the post text, ardgedee, for front-page skimmers.

I thought of asking somebody to, but it was early and I was insufficiently caffeinated. Thanks for the help.

So... just me and you, huh? I'm gonna call some coworkers too.
I'll be bearded, maybe a bit pre-drunk, have a bookbag and a jean jacket, and maybe make a sign or something.

I made little placards with Vonnegut's portrait. A few non-Mefites showed up. We were half an hour late because of family issues. So once again we were probably both there at opposite ends of the bar. Gotta work on that.

Did you hook up with Mark Maynard? I was, like, two tables away from him, drinking with my coworker's family. He came for the Vonnegut thing too, but left before I got back over to him.
