Why is this thread from December 2004 near the top of AskMe's "Popular Favorites"?

I mean, did something happen that uncovered it to everybody favoriting it? Your favorite band sucks and all.

I see it. Odd. 4 new favourites today (but it says 9 on the popular favourites page) but I can't work out where it's been mentioned.

Yeah, I see it. If you click on the '9 favorites' you get this page. It strongly suggests that some event around 8:30 pm led a bunch of people to that page. I kind of poked around but didn't find what it was. Presumably a comment in a thread somewhere.

Dateline: Saturday night. Four people favorite a thread that contains a lot of music suggestions. And MetaTalk was there.

Well, po, as a responsible MetaFilter citizen, maybe you can tell us all how you found the thread, and everything will wendell, as it should, in our fine fashion. Pretty please?

No, no, it just goes to show that mefites can't leave the past behind. Move on, man! She's over you! That was two years ago! There's an upcoming presidential primary! Quit mooning over that old music thread and get to work on rhymes for "Obama"!

How do you pronounce Obama anyway? Is it an a like /hammer/, or more like /tomato/ (which is not like /potato/)?
posted by jacalata at 8:49 AM on April 22, 2007

From what I heard on one of his Oprah appearances, it pretty much rhymes spot-on with "yo MA-ma." Buh-ROCK o-BAHM-uh.

There's a hip-hop song, possibly by Jeru the Damaja, that contains the line 'Like Osama or Dahmer, I'ma cause drama.' Surely you can work it in somewhere.
