Hey everyone, a friend and I will be down in L.A. for a convention, May 23 to May 29th. Anyone want to get together with me for a night of fun?

It's been a long time since I was at a MeFi meetup. I'd like to go, but I'm not really up on all the cool places in LA, being a Valley dude and all.

Re: places around the convention center -- we've had at least one meetup downtown (at the Golden Gopher), and there may have been some others. My availability for the end of May is going to be dodgy, though, I'll let others pick a specific date/place.

Is it just me, or do we get something like 20 new MetaTalk posts every time an LA meetup thread gets posted?

I don't notice that much volume most of the times, but as soon as an LA meetup gets posted it screams right off the front page.

joelf, since this has scrolled off the front Meta page, you might have more luck if you repost the meetup suggestion (and the request for someone local to organize it) a week or so ahead of time. L.A. can be tricky to get together for a meetup, especially more than a week or two in advance (in part because we're all so widely dispersed over the city, but in part because that's just how we roll, yo). I'd normally be willing to try to organize, but I just don't know yet if I'll even be available that last week of May.
