Amsterdam meetup?

I know it is very short notice, but any NL dwellers interested in meeting in Amsterdam on the 10th, 11th, or 12th?

If a full-on official meetup is not practical, I would also invite any and all who are interested to join me on any of these evenings for free beer or other nice things.

I'll go there directly from work so I'm in for getting a quick bite somewhere.

Anyone flying back to America afterwards check the bottom of your shoes for little pieces of hashish you may have stepped on in a Coffee Shop. When the drug-sniffing dogs at customs get all excited, you can really run into bureaucratic delays at JFK.

Ok. I suggest we meetup at De Smoeshaan.
Inside it's a bruin café. So that's nice for the couleur locale for our UK guest. They have Belgian beers etc. too and I for one plan to eat something simple there right out of work.

It can be found just off the Leidseplein. Around the corner from the Café Americain.
So it's easy to find.
location in dutch. Tramline 1,2 and 5 will transport you from the Central Station to the Leidseplein. google maps location.
People who want to come can send me an email and I'll send them my mobile phonenumber for any last moment issues. Just in case.

Around 18:00 - 18:30? To have a bite. Amsterdammers who eat at home can join us around 19:00 - 19:30?
After that, if we feel like it, we can drift elsewhere....
But people will have my mobile phone nr.

Eh... /pause/ that's a Danish beer of course. So maybe the city you're thinking of is Kobnhavn.
But we'll have a Dutch beer for you. If that's ok too. Or a Belgian or German one.
Or a Czech one; personally Ill be having a couple of Pilsner Urquell.

heh, yeah, I bet that sounded dumb...I know it's Danish... but that's what I drink when I'm in Amsterdam... Just thinking about it makes me miss that place... Anyway- thanks!

Heh, Area Control, not dumb at all. I wouldn't be able to place Illinois on the map or Milwaukee for instance. So confusing the Danish with the Dutch would be perfectly understandable.

And Amsterdam is a great city to have a kroegentocht to unwind after working and studying hard.
