A midsummer's night meet-up in NYC

It's been at least a few days since I saw a posting for the last NYC meetup, so thought I'd try again here, shooting for mid August. Unfortunately, the last couple occurred during the week, which is unfortunately out of the question for a working schmuck like me. So, I ask you all, who is game for a meetup on the night of Friday, August 10, in a place convenient for all our Manhattanite, outer borough and tri-state MeFites?

It's a possibility, if it's not at a bar-type place and is accessible by public transportation. I'll keep an eye on the thread.

The dates are a little tight for my schedule, plus it isn't in a bar, so see you at the next alcohol-themed one guys.

I suggest any place where we don't have to sit down. Bars such as Revival are propah.

My preference if for a bar-type establishment, but looks like views are mixed on that. I dunno, I'm easy.

Well, there is always the pool at the QT Hotel near Times Square which is a) open to the public, b) attatched to a bar that you can access without leaving the pool, c) stand up in, d) take a steam bath or sauna in if the weather isn't hot enough for you and e) see some people half naked. I'm not sure who would be scared more by Mefites enjoying 'e' - the hotel staff or the MeFites.

Oh, and I've always wanted to visit the QT pool, but I don't think it's an ideal venue for a meetup- who wants to meet new people for the first time in their bathing suit? Not me.

Just saw this - have put it in my book & will try to drop by as it's near where I'm living now, & it's been a while since I've made it to a meet-up. plus I'm intrigued about those cupcakes (doesn't everyone always claim they're up in chelsea?)

rmless, you picked an awesome meetup for your first one; while the absent regulars were certainly missed, the smaller group made for a charming experience unlikely to be repeated at future gatherings (when it will be clear what a horde of loud weirdos we usually are when you're not looking).
