It would have been awesome if Cortex has started a metatalk thread, complaining about it and jessamyn's itchy delete finger.

You're a braver man than I am, Gunga tommasz (and you, too, matteo).

But if I ever do make an FPP, Jessamyn, this charming episode will make me feel a little less nervous about it. I think I'd rather not know whether you'd consider that a positive development.

With eleven hundred posts only a dozen or so in the last few years is pretty darn good. I know I have had my share.

Metafilter is my main source for good links, honestly. I don't read any other linkblogs regularly; mostly my pleasure reading is a few topical blogs I like for various reasons (language log, freakonomics, talkingpointsmemo, etc) and lighter stuff like Comics Curmudgeon, all of which is great reading but not something I'd really post about since someone else has gotten there first.

I'm not really a primary-research kind of guy, as web content goes—I like having more motivated, knack-having people do the footwork so I can just sit back and dig into their treasure. I've said before that I cheat on the rare occasions that I do post—either pulling things from Projects when they really catch my fancy, or posting (with maybe a little bit of extra background research when it makes sense) entertaining links that people drop in IRC, if someone else hasn't beaten me to the punch.

I don't know why people are afraid of double posts. You make them, they disappear, most people never notice. Sheesh. It's not like they make you pay a fine or something.

(Not that I am trying to give anyone ideas.)

Everyone's a voyeurist, they're watching me watch them watch me right right now.

Thank you.
