Meet-head in Beijing?

Do we have enough people for a meetup in Beijing in late October?

I'll be in Beijing from 10/20-10/24 or so, and my impression is that at least more mefites lives in Beijing than in Shanghai.

I haven't been in Beijing for years, so could someone suggest a nice hangout spot near Tsinghua University/Zhong Guan Cun?

There are a fair few new Mefites showing up as nearby now, so I bet something would be do-able. I have to be out of town on the 23rd, but will likely be free earlier (though I'm a terrible time manager). I'm in regular contact with bokane, so if he doesn't see this himself, I'll give him a heads-up.
I rarely get up anywhere near the universities (let's be honest, I rarely get more than 500 metres from me front door), so I'll leave suggestions of venues to one of our younger student types - though I did have a very nice time at a book talk at the One Way Street bookshop/cafe in the Yuanmingyuan not so long back.
Just the excuse we've needed, osf!

Thank you Abiezer, "One Way Street" looks very nice and quite suitable for a very small gathering, (and it looks like the meetup's shaping up to be one...)

It might be that people aren't back from their national day holidays yet. I know klue mailed me about recommendations for a trip to Tibet. Which also reminds me that I can mail him too - never met but have chatted in the MonkeyFilter irc channel before.

The holidays are sadly over. One Way Street looks like a nice place. Have had it recommended before (might also have been by Abiezer, come to think of it), but have yet to go there. I can't claim to know of a lot of Beijing Mefites, but with all the international students here these days - 4000 plus only at Peking University - you'd think there'd be some around.
