Midwestern Meetup?

Are there any Mefites out there interested in a central-Indiana meetup?

Really, I'm not too specific. I was thinking Indianapolis, but since I suspect there are so few of us, I'm willing to travel. :)

(I've thought about attending a Chicago meetup, but I thought I'd send a shout-out to see if there was anyone else out there in Indiana...)

What about a New Albany, IN meetup? :) I realize it's the buttcrack of the state, but they do have the New Albanian Brewing Company.

So lets get down to brass tacks- Where and when? Restaurant or Bar? Weeknight or Weekend?

My vote:

Restaurant downtown or southside?
Friday or Saturday, June 6/7 or 13/14

unfortunately, i myself am away from IN for the next 2 weekends. but after that, things are golden.

i agree with friday or saturday.
how about june 20/21?

and stevethered, i'm not sure we know each other well enough to view sockpuppets yet. maybe just bring a picture? or a drawing? :)

mrmojoflying: are you willing/able to come up to indy? i love new albany, but you're right...it's not really very "central." ...altho, we might be able to get some evansville or louisville folks to join up?

Naw, New Albany rocks! I'd be up for that, I'm in Louisville. Rich O's Public House, people, has a beer list so long it's in a three-ring binder.

Broadripple is convenient for me, distance-wise. I've never been to the Brew Pub, does it have a large enough area for a reasonable gathering?

It has a couple of main rooms, but I don't think it has a dedicated meeting room or anything. It's a great place, though. And they make some great beers there. How large of a crowd do you suspect we could get?

Good question about how to alert others. There's one guy who is listed as "nearby" to me. But, his profile shows absolutely no activity since he joined in '01. Given that, I'm not sure if he's even here anymore.

If they did, they hid from us. We hung at the BrewPub for awhile then wandered over to Brugge for a round of black beer. Twas a great night, if sparsely attended.

There will be another meetup. Count on it.
