DNC MeFite Gathering?

Coming to Denver for the DNC?

I'd been planning on being scarce during the DNC but it looks like I'm going to be in town for it. Are there any MeFites heading to the Mile High City for the festivities? Shall we gather?

Sadly, no.

I will be trapped in the TC for the RNC (thanks, work. That was lovely of you.)

So just remember that as bad as it gets there, it could always be worse.

I shall be STUCK in Denver during the DNC, because, well, I live there. It's actually going to suck for me as I depend on public transportation from central downtown to get back n forth to my job in Boulder every day and the RTD is one of those "terrorist vectors" that the homeland security type bozos are going to be leaning on, bleh.

That said, I shall be quite ready for alcohol and commiseration should you lot decide to do so.

If you're planning a meetup, keep me in the loop. I should have liked to meet some of the folks that came in for Worldcon last night but we never managed to get it organised.

I can't access MeFi/MeTa during the day (this means don't mefimail me if you desire a fast response) so send any workday queries by way of the gmail account on my profile.

I live quite close to downtown Denver and am part of the Wednesday booze cruise so I have a fair idea of which watering holes might be feasible.

I live in Longmont and work in Boulder, and too would like to be in the loop, though not one made tighter and tighter by Homeland Security until I'm gasping for breath.

And yes, I too live in Denver. I'm likely to be in NYC week of the DNC (and I'm gutted about it) but my plans may change...

rats, a meetup (last night) that I could have been at. What are the odds?

If I'm in town of DNC week, I'd be up for a meetup for sure. My name is in the lottery for the final day speech but no news yet. I might also be in NYC that week, but on a unrelated trip to NailsTheCat's trip.

hi lukemeister, I've got this in my recent activity and have also been watching it.

What we've done in the past that's worked well with the Denver contingent has been send out a group email/MeMail. fieldtrip was the keeper of The List iirc.

I'm free any evening but Monday, and there's no chance of me going to NYC as I previously thought. I might have a copy of the non-memail list that fieldtrip used for meetups, if needed.

I think the only reservations the Hornet takes is for the "Nest", which costs extra. I don't know how close to 5:30 I can be there, so whoever gets there first might want to commandeer a table for a few folks. I have no idea how many people might show up.
