Tropical Salty Impromptu Meetup: Vieques

Impromptu meetup in Esperanza, Vieques, Puerto Rico?

I'm in Esperanza until Wednesday morning. I'd like to crack open a can of Medalla Light and dip my feet in the warm waters on the Malecon in Esperanza with any MeFites who happen to be on the island. I'm thinking Monday August 18 sometime, whatever works for you. Any takers?

Gawd, I'd love to fly to San Juan, take a cab out to Fajardo, and then take the ferry over to Vieques for a meetup. ;)

We were there last September and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to go back.

My parents live there, but 1. It is their winter home (and it is summer) and 2. They don't even know Mefi exists.

Esperanza, you say? I'm SO there! I'll meet you at 2-ish at the large pier tomorrow! You bring the breadfruit, I'll bring the beer and a camera, and we can listen to the Reggaeton blaring from someone's Jeep, for sure. See you there, n_o_d!

What an awesome meetup! It's OK you forgot the beer, n_o_d; the ice water was much more refreshing! And excellent execution of the flip off the pier... I was impressed!

I'll post the pics when I get home, back to a non dial-up connection. We must do that again next time you're here. Maybe bodysurfing at Navio Beach?

Did you get a chance to go to the color-coded beaches? Red, blue, etc? AKA Caracas, Plato, Pato Negro....They are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, IMHO. Not quite as pretty as Flamingo Beach on the sister island of Culebra, but amazing nonetheless.

I've been to Red Beach, but none of the others. This time around, I just hung out in Esperanza and the beaches immediately surrounding it. Meetup pix to come, when I have time to scoop them off the camera!
