Charleston, SC meetup Oct 19-25?

I'm visiting Charleston, SC from Oct 19 - 25, if anyone wants to meet up that week. I know we're going to stop at Pearl Fryar's topiary garden in Bishopville on the drive down, too, if folks from Columbia want to join in that day.

I'm up for any excuse to visit Pearl. I'd be in. Be sure you have a drink at Moe's Crosstown Tavern for me.

Ooh, I'm gonna miss you by one day. We're going to be there the 11th-18th. If you have the time, for the love of god make sure you hit Jestine's Kitchen. Get the fried chicken, the fried green tomatoes, the cornbread, the sweet tea, and most definitely the coca-cola cake.

And then, when you're stuffed to the gills, wander/waddle around the restaurant and read all the wonderful articles about Jestine Matthews, the restaurant's namesake, who lived to be 112.

Heh. I've been making a "must-eat" list and have already decided to fall off the veggie wagon for Jestine's fried chicken. :)

If you're falling off the veggie train, you might as well swing by Holly Hill and tear into some fine pulled pig prepared by Sweatman's Barbecue. Feel free to drop me a line if you need any other pointers (both healthy and not).
