Can't get to mobile.metafilter.com January 27, 2009 10:18 AM   Subscribe

Post-injection issue: mobile.metafilter.com redirects to www.metafilter.com

This is on an iPhone 3G (2.2fw), in MobileSafari. I have a bookmark for http://mobile.metafilter.com/ which ordinarily takes me to the mobile version, but since the collapse this no longer happens.

I'm sure it's part of the overall bug fix, but I figured I'd highlight it.

Thanks, it's on the to-do list!

And it's off the to-do list.

Wow, pb, you work fast! Kudos, again, for fixing this all up!

Post-injection issue: My wallet doesn't have 750 american dollars in it.

Post-injection issue: Hundreds of witty, insightful, meaningful and hilarious comments I have made over the years have now been attributed to other users. I ask all MeFites to assume that any fabulous comments they may read in the archives were probably originally posted by me. It's likely that there are some remnants of Evil SQL still hiding from pb in the codebase that will make FUTURE amazing comments I make appear to be from others as well. Be forewarned!

Post-attack issue with Metafilthy as well. I emailed the author, but I'll throw it out here just in case there's a quick fix. Metafilthy 2.6 is throwing NO AUTHOR FOUND NO BACKLINK FOUND when I use it in the Blue. Works fine here and on AskMe. Is there something different about how the main page is coded now relative to the other two?

We're tweaking lots of things across the site right now—including the front page—to deal with the new performance issues related to our security updates. But even minor tweaks can break Greasemonkey scripts and extensions based on scraping.

I think you might have got your receiver address configured wrong in the database. If it happens again, I'm keeping the money.

On that note, lots of AskMe questions are showing up as deleted threads, even though they're still open for comments.

Thought I'd throw that in here instead of starting a whole new thread, since you probably already know about it.

Which threads are showing up as deleted? Haven't seen that yet.

pb, think it's worth posting a copy of the to-do list so we know what you're already working on?

No matter; they're back.
posted by mudpuppie at 2:25 PM on January 27, 2009

niles, it's not a to-do list that exists in any physical sense.

post-injection issue: pb is now faster than the speed of light and fixes problems before they appear.

Quick! Someone grab pb! If he's passed the speed of light it's possible that he'll start traveling back in time! If he gets back to Saturday the server will be down again and we'll be forced back to our Twitter ghetto!

For what it's worth I've used both the mobile and standard versions with my iPhone 3G and I much prefer plain old MeFi. YMMV but I like my snark full sized.

on my iphone, on regular mefi, i don't get a 'post comment' button, just a 'preview' button.

After I preview, the post comment buttons shows up though. Tres annoying on long threads.

empath: that's cause the "live preview" code is too strenuous for the iphone, so it forces you to preview your comment.

My understanding was that this is standard Opera behavior -- nothing to do with the iPhone itself.
