Ira Glass at UW-Milwaukee (Oct. 24th, 7pm)

Milwaukee area MeFites: Ira Glass (of This American Life) is speaking at the UWM Student Union on Saturday, October 24th, at 7pm. Meetup before/during/afterward?

More info here and here (just search for "Ira Glass" on the page). Tickets range from $5-$25 dollars depending on when you get them and if you have any sort of student status.

I unfortunately might be called out of town on Saturday at the last minute, but I thought I'd at least let other people know about this.

A modest plug - a long time ago I worked for PRI which distributes This American Life, and had a chance to see Glass (I would call myself a mild fan of the show, I often listen to an episode but don't make a point of it) and he was really fantastic live, a very dynamic and heartfelt delivery of material that he had obviously put a great deal of thought and work into.
