All of my local friends with kids were at least mildly interested. Thanks for the tip!

What a nice capybara!
First of all, it's a he not a she. His name is Caplin, and he's very well behaved. The best part were all the kids present and their totally random questions and facts they spout out.
What do they dream about?
Jaguar means that it kills in one pounce.
An anaconda is the world's largest snake.
Otters have clear eyelids that help them see underwater.
Jaguars have distinct spots that help them hide in the bushes. <>
Caplin ate a popsicle, made some cute noises, and tolerated lots of kids and adults petting him. His hair feels a lot like hay. His owner walked him in on a leash, and he can pull. He weighs about 110lbs, which apparently is a little on the small side for capybaras.
Thanks, MetaFilter, for alerting me to a potential capybara encounter in my area. We had a great time.>
