Steak and Eggy-Weggs, Oh My Brothers July 26, 2010 11:18 AM   Subscribe

Chicago is known for it's political corruption, hot dogs, tall buildings, cheeseborgers, and tiny beers. Let's go ahead and celebrate those last two at our monthly Billy Goat meetup on Wednesday August 4th at 6pm.

Crossposted to IRL.

Yes, I will probably make a torta run. Pork belly and bacon, people.

I would prefer to celebrate the political corruption. I'm going to be sad that I don't get to see Blago mugging for cameras every day after court, now that his trial's just about over.

A new thread?

I guess the old one will never make it to 666 comments. *sniff*

The hell it won't. We've still got like 4 months until it closes.

I like tall buildings.

I don't like hot dogs, but I do like dangerously polluted rivers.

I had to look up Tiny Beers, and found amberglow!

Happy Birthday to... me!

I probably won't go. Not because I have better things to do, unfortunatelym but because I'm probably going to have to work. And I so want cheeseborgers.

I've never been there, how much is their food?
posted by Evilspork at 2:49 PM on July 26, 2010

It's not bad. Ranges from $3 for a grilled cheese to about $6 for a steak and egg. You are, however, getting almost exactly what you pay for.

but you can take as many pickle slices from the condiment bar as you want.

If your tastes run a little more high end (I am a fucking snob about food and beer and I do not care who knows it) then I run Juliet Banana's Torta Delivery Service. A $12 torta out of Rick Bayless' kitchens and a $3 cheeseburger off a grease-encrusted griddle are not really the same thing at all other than being loosely classified as sandwiches, I suppose, so it's just different stroke for different folks.

Before all the pre-Lollapalooza carnage as well! You know, every time I RSVP to a meet up I never make it, so this time, I'm DEFINITELY not going. Winks and nudges.

Whoa, thems fighting words. Feel free to attack my Chicago cred, but don't you dare insinuate that I have a college education.

Chicago is obviously known for its Batman and its Championship Vinyl record store.

I'm a LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS.

Unless baxter_ilion melts into a puddle do to the illness he is nursing.

But in that case, I'll scoop him into a baggie and drag him along and whatnot.

So, it's looking like there's very little chance I'll be there. Site launch moved from Tuesday to Thursday, and unless that slips further, I ain't gonna be there.

Hey folks, it looks like I won't be making it tonight for various reasons, not the least of which is being here to cele-protest this.

Raise a tiny beer for me.
