Are search and favorite broken?

I posted a double, but it doesn't come up in the search even though it's the exact same address. How does that happen? It also still has a favorite attached. I thought they were expunged if the post was deleted.

Nope; I was confused, too, but the older one was at http://www.queermusicheritage.us/camp.html. Tricky!

Ah! so http://www.queermusicheritage.com/camp.html now resolves to http://www.queermusicheritage.com.us/camp.html very tricky indeed.

Now, about that favorite.

Since this is open about that thread already - I understand this is a textbook double post, but ... six years! If the FPP had had more padding links and a "Previously", it probably would've stood.

I wouldn't want to open the floodgates to repost everything that was put on the site 5 years ago (I wonder how many of those links still work) - but I also wouldn't mind something like this being left to stick around.

unliteral: Now, about that favorite.

You should totally remove it to save your five+ year unblemished record here.

I think the blame here lies with the queers and their music heritage. US didn't ask them to redirect their website, did they?

"Now Stuart, if you look at the soil around any large U.S. city with a big underground homosexual population - Des Moines, Iowa, perfect example. Look at the soil around Des Moines, Stuart. You can't build on it, you can't grow anything in it. The government says it's due to poor farming. But I know what's really going on, Stuart. I know it's the queers. They're in it with the aliens. They're building landing strips for gay Martians."

Padding or [via], but you're going to have to dig deep.

We build in some lag time. Favorites on deleted posts are removed every hour or so. Sometimes deleted posts are reinstated and it's good to leave those favorites in those cases.

Ah! that explains why I saw it still hanging around for some time but it is no longer there.

Favorites on *comments* in deleted threads still remain, though, right? I kinda like that.

Yeah, that's true. We don't remove favorites on comments in deleted threads.

I made a bunch of comments, and they received less than 50 favorites each - is it possible that favorites are broken? I'm thinking there must be a problem with the backend or something...
