The page is still loading, please wait to flag.

This message appears every time I try to flag, despite the page being fully displayed.

I'm using Firefox 12.0 with AdBlock, but not NoScript. I tried logging out, clearing the cache and cookies, and resetting my preferences. I also tried some of these tips.

Anyone else seeing this?

Flagged (whee!). Firefox 12.0, Adblock Plus, Stop Autoplay, I forget what else. MetaFilter not whitelisted.

I can flag this just fine, but my socks have no chemically useful properties, so I think we're even.

Works fine here. Firefox 12.0, Adblock, a kersquillion other add-ons.

Suggested text: The page is still loading, flagging failed, please proceed directly to moving on.

I think the static media server, mefi.us, is running slow. The shortener (e.g. http://mefi.us/t/21771 ) and Music pages are notably loading slowly for me. So there's likely some Javascript that only loaded incompletely, causing the above problems.

It's late, plus a bunch of people out of town, but pb will probably have some ideas when he has a chance to see this.

My only suggestion is to make sure the page isn't being held up by Google Analytics, which used to happen to me sometimes with FF. (I think I may have fixed that by disallowing google analytics via adblock at that point.)

(also dear somebody-you-know-who-you-are, please stop flagging every comment in this thread! My delete-flag-from-queue finger is flagging.)

Turns out I had inadvertently disallowed googleapis -- with that enabled, now I can flag again! Whoopee! Flags for everyone!

And I guess we can move on now. Thanks, Taz.

Ah, it looks like it's not mefi.us, but Cloudfront serving images. And the slowness is likely on my end.

On preview: yay!

I flag every single post as a matter of principle, and it is working fine.

Huh. I popped open the dev tools on Chrome, and there are references to scripts- and images.metafilter.com, and those aren't responding. I don't know if those are outdated references or if the servers are down.
posted by Pronoiac at 11:21 PM on June 2, 2012

I think those have been moved, Pronoiac.

The real issue here is the authority of buttistan's claim to sovereignty.

It draws it from the Treaty of Westphalia. At least, that's why the buttistanians say that they display the treaty every time someone questions whether they're a real country.

How we love your fertile land.

The promise of Buttsistan

LOL! LOL! Buttsistan,
Where there’s a Stan for every man.
This Anthem was written by The Real Roxanne,
Now get in the goddamned van.

Well it does show the javascript isn't quite right. Maybe the test for whether the included libraries needs to be a little smarter.
