I'm fishing for any interest in a Seattle/Western Wa. mega get-together... I haven't seen anything about folks getting together recently and I figured I'd start the ball rolling.

I leave for the East Coast on the 11th. How about June 9th? or the 8th?

i am currently living in corvallis, oregon but i'd love to make the drive. however, i am lame and under-21, so i couldn't hit a bar, unfortunately. the dates jessamyn suggested work beautifully for me.

The weather is getting nice out. How about an outdoors shindig?

I like June 8th; say, ~7 or 8PM, personally... even that Friday would work for me. Where would be a good place to have this "get together"? Hailing from Kitsap county, myself, I'm not 100% sure I could suggest a place in Seattle that would accomodate us all comfortably.

There are some good places to go that are all-ages. There is, as gluechunk suggests, the great outdoors. There are even a lot of bar/foodplaces that have beer and allow folks under 21. If we chose outside, we'd need a raincheck locale. MeFi pick-i-nick? cookout?

That entire weekend, excepting the eveningtime of June 8th, works for me. If it started before the eveningtime (7:00ish), I'd be there for part of it.

I am very much down with an outdoor shindig.

You can count me in for anything you cook up.

I'll be coming back from San Jose the evening of the 7th, so we might be up to popping over on the 8th.

Hmmm. I might be tempted to venture out into the sunlight, if a crew of interesting Metafilterians were assembled somewhere lacking a roof. The big mean cancer ball in the sky spent all last week trying to kill me and failed, so I can probably survive an afternoon.

I'll be around that weekend for whatever.

We could meet on the Eastside at Marymoor park, assuming good weather.

Hey, I'd be up for most anything. Count me in.

...but then we'd have to re-name it MeFiRed! I may be able to find my way out there, but I wouldn't mind the event happening in a Seattle park.

Friday night or anytime on a Saturday is right up my alley. Laziness or fear would be my only excuse for not showing up. But ask the cats, I did show up at The Garage last time, but missed most of you. I had to work. Fridays and Saturdays I do not.

I'm in. Who's got the badminton gear?

Gasworks would be a neat picturesque place to show off the MeFiSea '02 photos for all of our non Seattle MeFi brethren.

Yeah, I've been meaning to get to Gasworks for some photographic fun anyway.

gasworks is the BEST, from my opinion, and I don't even live anyplace near it. we could bring [I think] a cooker or have some sort of a pick-i-nick. What say ye? The 8th at maybe 5-6 pm? Potluck? We'll have to save the beer drinking for later if it's at a park but that's cool by me.

Mefi Gasworks Potluck sounds good - we're up for it.

Gasworks is probably the most easy to find and accessible for all, so Gasworks has my vote. What if it rains? Should we have an alternate spot? If so, where? :)

Well there is the shelter there--but hey, it's tourist season, the least rainy time of the year. And remember, don't eat the dirt--it's toxic.

Event ideas for Gasworks Gathering:

  • eat the dirt
  • steal kites from kids

    You forgot
  • make kids eat dirt.
