RSS not updating April 11, 2014 8:15 AM   Subscribe

The RSS feed for the blue hasn't updated since the post at 4:41 this morning (ET), and the Ask MetaFilter RSS feed hasn't updated since 3:27 this morning. Am I the only one seeing this?

The feedburner feeds (linked in the footer) say 08:41:10 GMT and 07:27:39 GMT, so not just you.

It's working now even though we didn't do anything on this end. Spooky.

Maybe a Feedburner glitch?

Well if this site now fixes itself - without the need for mod involvement - we can surely do away with the expensive team of moderators. Also, we've finally reached the "singularity". Vote #1 quidnunc kid for chief singleton, and I will merge with the sentient AI mind that is MeFi to form a gestalt human-machine entity that will in NO WAY resemble an Austrian-accented cyborg with killer one-liners and a thing for leather.

OK I'm off to the pub soon but I'll be back.

Can't we just blame it on the Heartbleed bug and move on?

I'm less worried about Austrian-accented cyborgs than I am about the Rastafarian navy.

Now, Australian-accented cyborgs, those would be scary.

l'll show myself out.

I parsed that as Australian scented cyborgs. Eau de koala?

I gave up in despair, or at least I stopped paying attention for a while. Did anyone ever come up with a good replacement for Google Reader?

I use Feedly, it doesn't update as well as Reader used to, but it imported my feeds from Google OK and the interface is quite nice.

I like newsblur better

Feedly in "Titles Only" mode is nearly indistinguishable from Google Reader. I also use Reeder on iPhone and the fantastic Mr. Reader on iPad, both of which can hook into Feedly's back-end.

Inoreader is excellent imo.

Yeah, InoReader works well for me.

another big vote for newsblur.

I like paying for things I use. It makes me feel like they'll stick around a little longer.
