Antivirus won't let me connect with Blue or Green February 29, 2016 1:58 AM   Subscribe

This is the only way my ESET NOD32 Antivirus program will let me communicate with MF right now. Whenever I try to open something on MeFi or AskMeFi -- or the Contact a Moderator page -- I get a notice that the connection has been terminated because of a JS/ScrInject.B trojan. I was doing fine reading the past 24 hours of MeFi until just before posting this. Can anyone confirm there's a problem, or has my antivirus program gotten out of hand?

Hey, pb might have some ideas about this, but for now I can say we haven't heard from anyone else with this trouble so far. Hopefully some other folks using the same antivirus program can weigh in.

Eset forums are full of reports of people seeing this trojan everywhere today, so probably a bad signature update.

Didn't think to check the ESET forums. Thanks, effbot. Until I'm told otherwise, I'll consider this ESET's problem rather than MeFi's. (Well, and my problem, too, as I can't read MeFi!)

I'm having the same problem. Guess I'll have to browse MeFi on one of the umpteen-other devices around my home NO IT'S FINE REALLY

Confirmed to be a bug by Eset folks.

And they've got a fix out now.

UPDATE (11:20 GMT): Update 13103 addressing the issue was released to all users. Clicking Update - > "Update now" in the main windows of your ESET product will download the latest signature database.
