UI issue in MeFi search October 7, 2002 9:50 AM Subscribe
Hardly Life Threatening......but..........
I think that is a remnant from the days when MetaFilter would constantly timeout due to hardware limitations, and this intentional measure was taken. The omitted options from the primary search are processor-intensive ones.

I'm glad to hear there's a way to get the old search back. Now let's stop talking about it or Matt will "fix" (i.e., break) it.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

Chow.
Ciao?
No, Chow as in Purina. Or maybe in this case, and with respect to my Italian relatives, "Purinanetti". And now that my original question has been answered (once again, thanks for the answer all), I cite reference to Why Russians Were Not Buying Italian Dog Food.
yes, I know, thread derail. but the query has been answered and the post has scrolled off the main page.

Ok, when I do a search in MF, my first choice includes a drop down menu for just "threads only and users". Now once I have a done any search, the drop down includes "threads and comments", "threads only", "comments" and "users". I have held off on asking this question, but the curiosity has gotten the cat. Can someone enlighten me?
In MT, this is not the issue. I get the same drop down options every time.
Sorry if this is a repost of a similar question.
Like I said, hardly life threatening. Just curious if it is me, or some sort of...."thing".
Cheers
