Slow loading? January 21, 2004 9:35 AM Subscribe
the blue, gray and green all seem remarkable slow the last two days. pages seem to load in fits and starts. often the page appears to be waiting for google ads, but sometimes not. what's the deal?
Ditto. And if I try to load too many MeFi pages at once, my dial-up connection dies and I have to reboot.
(Yeah, I know. Switch to broadband, already. I'm just waiting for the callback from EarthLink, people.)

At the end of a sentence, no less!
Everybody run! Take advantage of the slowness!

Anyone else notice if they go to their username page where it shows you how many posts you've made to talk, filter, and ask that your comments in ask say they are in meta and if you pull up your ask comments that way they are in meta-grey?

"It'll will" is a new phresh frase by all the young muckrakers, in case you thought I made a mistake in my usage..

Short, of course, for "It'll will be gonna."
It'll will be gonna the biz-nomb, my multiethnizzles!
and sadly, the Blue still owes me a coupla slow page loads as karmic payback for obsessively reloading and posting in the blogstop thread.

Embedded metrosexual in the hizzouse!!!
this fulfills your minimum daily requirement of newly coined cliches
Blogstop addicts can still get their fix over at the Monkey House. Tom Swifties abusers should contact Brad personally.
Still, I'll have to blame quons' for the slowdown. After all, Matt gave him fooning privileges...

vacapinta: it's faster because, out of respect, I've stopped refreshing every second until MeFi is up to speed again.

Apparently Matt has improved the performance of the "automatic Miguel post generator" and "random quonsar comment generator" so they wouldn't be such a drain on resources.

Go back to fooning.
As for the MetaSpeed: better, but not back to usual standards here. Everybody who meets Matt at the Portland MeetUp tonight should talk.... ve-ry.... slow-ly...
