Spellcheck issues June 22, 2004 11:58 AM Subscribe
Is anyone else having trubble with the spell check?
It worked ok for me on the post a new thread page on MetaFilter. Can someone test these pages with spellcheck out and let me know if they work or not? I can fix it later today.

On metafilter it hasn't worked for me posting comments in about a week (I've only tried two or three times, mind you).
In mertatalk it's currently sitting on the little loading graphic and doesn't seem to want to move. In ask metafilter I get the same thing I get in metatalk.
In the blue earlier I wasn't even getting the loading graphic when I attemped to use it.

Mine has been hanging on the loading graphic since the changes started around the beginning of June on all new comment and thread pages on firefox 0.8. Occasionally I don't even get the graphic either, but I chalk that up to load, as it has happened before.

Na "meta-filter boyzone" - bad spellers. The spell ck on my end has been either taking too long or not working for the past two months. Use other sources, word, Note pad and the like which can save some time.

It (on a new MetaFilter thread) works for me too, but nothing else does.

The only place it works for me is the new MeFi thread page. Everywhere else, it hangs on the trumpeting graphic doodad.
Administrator, please hoop me!

Oh, that is on Firefox 0.8, WinXP.
If I use IE6, the spellchecker still hangs on the trumpet thing, but also gives me this error message:
Line7, Char4, Access is denied.

After you fix it, can you replace the trumpet thing? How about some gears turning or a tiny hamster running in a wheel?
Anyone have any other "the computer is thinking" ideas?
