Indeed. Something to do with an MS patch causing the SQL database to be unreachable and otherwise generally fux0ring everything.

It was out for a few hours, thanks to the latest Microsoft patch.

I was not aware that it was possible to apply patches without bringing the server down...

Or maybe you got hit by the DoS attack the patches were to prevent just as you were applying them? :)
