Its too bad we dont have a "zipcode" search-like feature for other countries. That would make this situation much easier.

well, you could search for long/lat, maybe? or google using "site:www.metafilter.com" ?

well, some people have put it on their user pages, so find the long/lat for Melbourne, and search for that. Or just search for Melbourne, i guess : >

Thanks, amberglow. (My brain is still dead from the 15-hour flight.) Cheaily: will do. I don't know precisely (one of the southwest suburbs?) but there's tram access, so it doesn't much matter.
