Pittsburgh meetup February 21, 2005 9:51 AM   Subscribe

Uno tiempo mas con seriedad -- there are more than 30 of us in the Pittsburgh metroplex judging solely by those who've given zip codes. Is there any interest in a meetup? It's grey, it's cold, it's damp, we're entitled to a little fun, aren't we? (Related question: should we attempt to work through the rubric of meetup.com? I'd be happy to organize, fwiw.)

I'd be interested.

I've got no opinion on meetup.com -- actually, I'm a bit of a luddite sometimes and I've never used meetup before.

I live in Cleveland, but I'm willing to make the drive to come visit.

Hm. If my offer scared everyone off, I rescind it.

sciurus: it would have been better to drag your ass down here during football season so we could make proper fun of the Browns.

Do you think there is a good intersection of mefites and geek-night attendees? We could always meet at geek night and cause a meta-rumpus.

I've never heard of geek-night, I don't know how many of us fit that particular demographic. But then, who knows, maybe everyone here is just complacent -- no one shows to the weblogger meetups except the organizer. I keep meaning to go just so that he's not sitting all alone in Starbucks looking like an idiot, but I forget.

Maybe we should just set a place and time and say "if you show, cool, if not we'll talk about you and refuse to drink a toast in your honor." I'll have to find the time to find a place.
