Will London Mefiites be at the Fitzroy this coming Saturday or will they all be at home watching the new Doctor Who?

Good question. BitTorrent of Doctor Who here.

Do people want to reschedule?

I have VCR.

Hmm, yes - I knew I should've left the Doctor Who bit out.

Me and Mrs Geezer will be at the Fitzroy from about 5pm that day. I was just wondering if anyone else was coming.

Unfortunately - Dr Who.

thanks pretty--that was really good!

Go to the meetup, all of you--are you going to let London just be a pale shadow of our contingents in NY and SF and everywhere else? VCR, torrent--you can see Dr. Who the next day.

Whoever goes, someone take a bloomin' camera. DaShiv can't keep his elegant monopoly on quality reportage for long.

Having been visiting people in the smoke for the past few days during the faboo weather, I gotta say - you chose the wrong weekend, guys! Hope it picks up again in time to coax people out of their cells.

[on preview] a Brit talking about the weather - would you ever believe such a thing?

Don't you people know it's a super soccer Saturday?

What is a "soccer"?

I'm fairly sure I'll be able to make it, and I'll try to bring a few Monkeys along with me...

Great, flashboy. No poo-flinging though! Any flashing likely? (",)

So how do we recognise each other then? Red carnations in the lapel? Carrying a copy of the Daily Mail? Scrawl MeFi across our heads in green biro?

Well, that's easy. You look dodgy, P_G looks pretty, i'll look dashing, and flashboy...he'll have a chaperone. The whole bar will be looking in our direction, so stragglers will spot us straightaway.

err, probably not the place to ask, but... when i click on the doctor who thing that bittorrent produced, i get two pictures playing side by side in windows media player, both grainy and purple/green. it's not meant to be like that, is it? what do i need to do?

i wouldn't have bothered asking, only i'm a dirty old man and someone mentioned billy piper.

Dammit. I just left London yesterday. Stayed on Euston. Walked past the Fitzroy. A couple times, probably.

Next time.

andrew - download DivX maybe? I haven't tested that torrent, but it's unlikely to be faulty.
posted by Pretty_Generic at 4:18 PM on March 21, 2005

ah. i have divx already installed. and it works! thanks.
