I can't get to any metafilter.com addresses from my home ISP. I can get to it from other places, i.e. work, and I can get to it if I use an open proxy. More details inside. [more inside]

Over the past couple of days when I access MetaFilter (via XP Professional and I.E. 7.0.5730.13) the Internet Explorer Information Bar has 'popped-up' with a security warning: "This website wants to run the following add-on: 'Microsoft Data Access - Remote Data Services Dat...'" Having done a Google search, it appears that in the past two-weeks visitors to other websites have been getting the same warning. I have not allowed/given access to the pop-up warning. Any ideas as to what's up?

I've been getting "connection reset while page was loading" errors every time I've tried to access any of the x.metafilter.com domains for awhile now. I post this in one of the small 5-minute windows of access which have opened up over the past few days or so. Is there still work being done on the site, or is the borkage on my end? [more inside]

Has a mobile version of MetaFilter been suggested here before? I ask because I'm using my phone's online access much more than at home nowadays. Surely there are a few people in the same boat? Neigh!

What is the policy re accesing previously deleted posts and their deletion justifications? Is there a listing somewhere ? (Could be good for learning by negative example, although certainly defeats the purpose since accesing previously deleted posts means they have not really been deleted.)
