📆

End of another long week, let's carve out a space to talk about something other than politics for those that need that space. 2020 is a leap year, which means we all get an extra day, and this year, for the first time in almost 30 years, 29 February falls on a Saturday (tomorrow). Let's open up this space to talk about leap years, leap days, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings. Basically anything related to numbers and dates in general. Were you born on a leap year/day? If so, how do you celebrate? Or maybe you were married on a leap day? I'm sure that makes for some interesting anniversary celebrations. Whether its you or your friends or family members, let's talk about the days, weeks, months, the calendar. As always, remember to be kind to yourself and to others.

MetaFilter around the Globe.

MetaFilter around the Globe. I used to live in the USA on the east coast. Then on the west coast. Now I live in London. All this time I've been a MeFi user. Has anyone else noticed how different MeFi is at different times of the global day? For example, AskMeFi when it is the AM in London is pretty European and has loads of interesting questions. Once the global day hits the USA, loads of silly tech questions appear. Late in the USA night, we get some scandalous ones. OR is this all just my perception?

Once per seven days or once per calendar week?

Once per week questions: Once per seven days or once per calendar week? Did I miss something on the first post page that said if I post, I can't post again for the next 7 days? (I'm normally attentive, but the first I noticed about this was just trying to post and being denied). Is once per week really appropriate on AskMe? Questions tend to bunch up, but then there are long quiet periods - how about no more than 4 times per month instead?

Can't change the number of days displayed on front page

I don't know if lurkers get to post bugs -- (I haven't earned my posting rights yet -- does that mean I don't have feed back rights?) -- But... Since the server move, I can't change the number of days that displays by default on the front page.

Preferences don't change front page days

Even though I changed the Number of Days to Show on Main Page from 7 to 5 a couple of weeks ago, I still count eight date headings on the main page. The Customize form box says 5 as it should be, and re-submitting doesn't change anything.
