A Tricky Question, a Disappointing Response.

I'm referring to this question and this response. Look, Unified Theory, I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt here, and assume that maybe you didn't read the entirety of a rather long and rambly OP. And I actually agree with parts of your post - I hated the way the question was phrased as well, and I agree that the assumption that it's automatically creepy for an older guy to be attracted to a younger woman is both sexist and ageist. And, I agree with the many other posters stating the the OP that she handled the situation in a very naive way, and needs to give serious thought to how she sets her own boundaries in situations like this. But. [more inside]

Anything goes on MetaTalk?

I was a bit confused by Jessamyn's post. Are insults really kosher in MetaTalk?

Deleted AskMe

I'm pissed and slightly baffled. My first post to Ask MeFi was deleted. Apparently I should have posted it here in MetaTalk instead? No one has bothered to explain why, but I'm assuming it's because it was a question about MeFi. (Why do I keep having to log in every time I return to MeFi on my iBook, but not on my PC?)

Well, excuu-uuse me!

I paid $5 for the privilege of posting one question a week, which is then deleted? That's just rude.

a thread about a lazy, fu...

In light of the recent "pat-yourself-on-the-back" thread, I just resisted the urge to type a snarky reply to a thread about a lazy, fu... ahem... a recent thread here in metatalk. I invite you to please resist the urge yourself.

Good FPP derail belongs in Metatalk?

After seeing this thread denigrate into a debate over the question of whether it was a good FPP or not, I started wondering: is a metatalk thread an appropriate vehicle for trying to divert etiquette debate out a blue thread even when the metatalk thread itself is likely to turn into a rehash of a zillion other metatalk threads?

A "take it to MetaTalk" button

A "take it to MetaTalk" and/or "take it to Email" buttonb below the Comment box? In the heat of the moment it would help to be reminded these options existed.

Constructive (or not?) Criticism on Metatalk

Constructive (or not?) Criticism on Metatalk
MeTalk is the place where we gripe about what we think is wrong with certain posts. So what happens when you're a little too straightforward about your opinion? Hurt feelings and accusations of flaming. Was I over the line with my comments? What can we do to ensure that posters don't take offense to criticism doled out in MeTalk? [more inside]

MetaTalk Getting Crowded

Whoa! What's up with MetaTalk all of the sudden? Now we're getting multiple posts per day in several categories?! I count 12 (now 13) today alone. Is MetaTalk getting too crowded? The quality of the posts and discussion here is really going downhill. Remember when every post was on-topic, relevant, and well thought out? It just seems like posts are tossed up without thinking and comments get even less consideration. It's really wearing me out.
