Duolingo's Korean course was just released for Android and iOS! There was a fair bit of enthusiasm for the Japanese course when nightrecordings made a MeTa about it; can we get a decent showing of MeFi Korean learners? [more inside]
Duolingo now offers Japanese! (For iOS and Android phones, only. No web-based presence yet.) Since some Mefites previously expressed interest in Japanese, I wanted to invite folks to join the Metafilter Japanese Club I created on Duolingo. [more inside]
Duolingo has added clubs, to allow people to learn languages together. So for Mefites who'd like to all come and Duolingo together I made a club. Come join a club and we can all learn together. [more inside]

What do you know now that you didn't know before Metafilter?
Would anyone be interested in creating a Metafilter University? What I mean is a series of courses (or they could be short, TED-like lectures) specially geared towards Metafilter members? By which I mean they'd be more than just videos posted to YouTube. There would be some way for members to interact with the lecturer (and other members) about the course. [more inside]
I'm bored and ignorant. So are you. Let's learn something. There's a plethora of free open "courseware", books, and audio lectures on the internet. And IRC channels where we could "meet". And surplus of smart people here. Let's set up a "course" and take it together.
