Ok, so I'm guessing that we should add building implosions to the list of "things we can't talk about on Metafilter?"
Are crackpot September 11 conspiracy theories the best of the web? Do we need more posts like these? Twice in one week? I think not.
Next Thursday is the second anniversary of Sept 11th. The inundation is already starting both here and in all other media. Mayhap the anniversary will be a good time to talk about anything but (i.e. actively posting non-9/11 material)? Or am I being stone cold and inhuman?
Can the September jitters, already being felt from all sides of the political table, be in any way lessened or avoided?
Don't know if it's been mentioned - Metafilter shows up a few times in the November edition of Yahoo Internet Life, including a six-comment snip of the original 9/11 post.
Is this maybe not the best hornet's nest to stir up again? It got pretty ugly last time, and this is just a different salvo in that same MeFi street fight...
Is this really the venue for moments of silence and lists of condolences? Especially when posters order 'do not comment here'? We saw how well it worked in the case of the first thread.
