Pony Request: URL Coding for Telephone Numbers
Could MeFi please consider implementing the
href=tel:XXX-XXX-XXXX
function for links? (more inside) [more inside]Call me
I made a post earlier today and the more inside included this cryptic message from the back of a postcard:
8.1.22.5 7.15.20 13.25[more inside]
20.9.3.11.5.20 9 3.12.1.9.13
6.9.18.19.20 4.1.14.3.5
Am going home for week and you know what takes me. There was an awful smell of burning in Mitchell St. last night. Were you making toffee again. C.B.
Why favorites count dropping?
Why is the number of favorites I have received dropping every once in a while? Can members unfavorite one of my posts?
Favorite comment/post bug
If someone marks post number x as a favorite, and someone else marks comment number x as a favorite, they both end up on the same "n users marked this as a favorite" page, even though they're referring to different items.
AskMe sorting and posting
1 Etiquette, 1 request.
Etiquette - are you allowed to post to ask.mefi with no comments at all in threads? (looked all over etiquette questions+wiki couldn't find the thread/answer)
-----
Request:
Any way to filter Ask.ME questions to those questions with <5 (or 10) answers with no best answer?br>
It'd be very useful to see all the questions with only one to four responses...that often get scrolled by.5>

Why the upsurge in Mefi meetups?
Anybody else noticed a recent upsurge in the number of Mefi meetups? What could be the reason for the newfound urge of more members of the community to meet in RL?
Patterns in AskMe thread numbers
Just noticing a quirk: The thread IDs of the anonymous AskMe posts seem to reflect the number that would be assigned to them had they been instantly posted at the time of submission. The three latest threads on AskMe are 14998,15006,15016 (all Anon threads) followed by normal threads 15032, 15031...etc.
Profile URLs now going to names not numbers?
I keep a bookmark that ends in the spelled-out version of my username so that I can go to it and type out other users' names at the end if I don't know their user number. Tonight, going to it to find some other user's page, it took me to the page with the URL ending in my user number rather than the word "interrobang".
In the past couple of days, I've also "moused" over other people's names to see who they were--mainly in ask metafilter--and gotten the URL ending in the name spelled out rather than the number. Is this because the standard is soon going to be user pages with URLs ending in names, rather than numbers?

How come new admissions are frozen but the number of members keeps creeping up?
How come new admissions are frozen but the number of members(12322 when last I checked)keeps creeping up? Asylum seekers? Sleight of hand on the part of undesirable aliens? I think we should be told...
Best threads get least comments
There are times when I see threads like the one on Clippings or the physics simulation lab and I could express that these threads have a value that cannot be measured by the number of comments. It is too bad that threads that inspire outrage and contention gather more comments, and as such, appear to have more value to the community.
Finding a specific post by post number without knowing thread?
Is there a way to find a specific post by post number without knowing which thread it's in? (Other than binary searching by hand through all of MeFi?)
"Connection failure members" bug
Hullo Matt, we have a minor bug:
When I load MeFi, instead of being told how many members there are, I instead get: "Connection failure members".
Is this an M2K bug? :-)
