Would it be possible to be able to mark MeFi Mail messages as unread? I tend to manage my email by marking messages I haven't yet responded to as "unread," and it would be helpful to me -- and maybe other people? -- to be able to do that with MeFi Mail, especially as there's not an indication that I've sent a reply. Would it be possible to crank up the contrast between read and unread links in the "Contact Activity" column? Often half of the words are highlighted and it's a very crowded small space. I have no idea if it can be done easily and if not, I can still squint.

Something is rotten in the state of ask.metafilter.com. For about a day now, each time I've visited AskMe just after visiting MetaTalk, it has told me that I have no unread threads, but dozens (or hundreds) of unread messages. I imagine that somehow the threads are being marked as read when I visit MetaTalk. Eerie!
