I don't see how it's "spam." Actually, I think it's pretty impressive he responded within an hour and a half of the link being posted. They've obviously got a close eye on their logs. Must be a small company...

MeFi has attracted responses from authors, editors and other people-in-charge before. They've always added to the conversation. Maybe business is indeed slow.
