Katrina (hurricane) filter? September 7, 2005 8:04 AM Subscribe
Obviously we all agree that the administration's response to Katrina has been teh suck. Can we maybe consolidate the discussion in a single thread to catalog the myriad ways in which it sucks?
If so, can we get a sidebar to point to the thread?

Great idea- but like all the Katrina help, too little, too late.
In other words, you're stuck. Sorry.

How about if we consolidate all of the Katrina-related MeTa callouts into a single post? This is not the first time this subject has been discussed.

Maybe we could just consolidate all the Katrina-weary users into a single account. "The better to killfile you with my dear!"

My ex-girlfriend's name is Katrina. She broke my goddamn heart.
It got better.

What sucks is that "Katrina" is such a weak sounding name. Last year we had "Ivan". "Ivan the terrible", in contrast to those other pussy storms that hit just before Ivan.
It sounds better to get beat up by someone named "Ivan" then someone named "Katrina".

I thought that about Hugo, too, delmoi. "What a wimpy-sounding storm", I thought.
Then it wiped out South Carolina.

I dunno. I was always a little unsettled by Hugo, myself.

"Katrina" sounds like a Ukranian figure skater.
They really should have skipped ahead in the alphabet and called it "Zouhl" or something scary like that.

I, for one, look forward to wading through 600 posts after work everyday in our new, shiny, consolidated thread.
And hey, 15 different conversations in there? Just spice in the mix.

> "Oh yeah--like Karl Rove! Weren't we supposed to be doing something with a grand jury with him?"
That item passed its sell-by date two weeks ago ago. It's amazing, short attention span conquers all.

Actually, "Special Prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald's investigation appears to be in its final stages." The grand jury is also still at work. It's expected that Fitzgerlad may unseal indictments in this case sometime this fall.
Stay tuned.

It's not worth starting a new Metatalk thread, and I don't want to shit in the post, but damn, I'm sick of this. It's a crappy post: two Wikipedia posts, a post to a local news story rehashing the same stuff, and a BBC page about "reports" of violence.
I think Bush and Co. ought to go to jail for all this, and I want to shout it out from the rooftops, put JF, post after post after post, all variations on the same thing.
*rends garment*
Ok, I've flagged it. Now I'll move on.

There are so many Katrina threads in Metatalk even, I don't know where my above comment fucking belongs.
I'm gonna go read a book.

When I was nine, hurricane Bob hit Long Island. My parents called me Bobby, but from then on...call me Bob.
