I don't live in NE Ohio anymore, but I'd still like to suggest La Cave du Vin as a meetup spot.

How about a Saturday or Sunday afternoon at the Cleve Art Museum? Then Cave du Vin or somesuch?

I don't think the Cleveland Museum of Art has much to see right now. Didn't they move the permanent collection during construction?

If we want to do it this weekend, Sunday works best for me. Maybe we could do a MeFites at the Zoo this Sunday, October 2nd?

I'm amenable to anything. We could head on over to Coventry for the Wine Cellar, or Market Avenue Wine Bar in Ohio City. If we want food, maybe Fulton Bar and Grille or The Grovewood Tavern? If stuart_s has a place he's been wanting to eat at, maybe we could go there...

Heh! I have a much lower user# I never use.

Um, not that high/low means anything ;-) It's nice we never hear the "This from someone with a [very recent] user #!?" comment anymore.

They are totally laid back and often involve tasty food. I vouch for Shane and stuart_s and googly and picklebird. Now, if only someone could vouch for me...

ferociouskitty, don't be a 'fraidy cat! You don't have to send a proxy, but you are more than welcome to bring a good friend with you. Anyway, maybe we'll get more details tomorrer.

Adam's very cool, Cleve meetups are always laid-back and totally amiable, and no personal details of any "anonymous" MeFites will be shared on MeFi without your consent! We'll even keep you out of pics/shoutouts if you want.

I added this meetup to the MetaFilter group on Upcoming.org.

I'm planning to attend.

Fulton Bar and Grill would be perfect. Grovewood Tavern would be great, too. I was so eager to start looking for a good location that I didn't even notive that sciurus suggested these. But they were exactly the two I chose independently.

Grovewood isn't centrally located in Cleveland but I plotted out some of those zips and our membership isn't even remotely evenly distributed. There isn't a single member West of Ohio City. So, Grovewood is actually a good option geographically. I think the Fulton Bar is, too.

I don't think that we can go wrong with either one. Maybe it will come down what else the respective neighborhoods have to offer and I'm afraid I can't add much to that conversation.
