I probably won't be able to show up until later in the evening like probably 8 or 9. Will people still be there?

I only just got here, but this is a very nice city. I approve.

I hope I can make it too - work commitments permitting.

We are thinking of moving to Vancouver sometime in the next few years, biggest issue is the job thingie

I think we can postpone. What do you people say to 8 or 9? There's a public talk on Hannah Arendt at the Art Gallery from 7 - 8:30 which I was hoping to check out, so 8:30 onward is best for me.

8pm works for me

...as does 8.30pm

8-8:30 is fine for me. I'm done classes at 2pm, so I have the evening free.

OK. 8:30 it is.

I may show up. I didn't notice this thread, but I have a couple of hours to decide ...

*hems* *hawes*

Ooo, Ooo, should I go? Should I study? Should I meet strangers I've only heard of on the internet?

*flips coin*

I ditched the Arendt thing but I'll still come.

the enthusiasm for the meetup is ... epidemic

hey that was fun last night!

my second MeFi meetup, and once again the original venue was closed so we had to think fast and decide on another place.

Cool to meet birdsquared, vernondalhardt, ori, antifreez_ and stray!! And eventually wobh and his gf found the new place - so kind of us to throw a geographic curve to folks visiting from Portland ;)

So eight of us were quaffing libations and eating good food at Section(3).

Alleged photodocumentary evidence will be presented this weekend.

Not just very nice, Vancouver's the best city in the world.

It's 6:30--wish I could join you, but I'm in the Okanagan.
Maybe in a month or so...

I would have been a day late, anyway.

hey c'mon down, weapons-grade pandemonium, we'll meet with ya!

just make sure you are on time - because we've set two precedents in Vancouver recently by organizing meetups at places that close for the evening without warning.

just name a date when you're next in town!

I recommend Subeez for the next one - open late, nice dark lighting, lots on tap, big tables, good food. But the Moscow Mules at Section (3) are fantastic. [I'm outta town, but I'll post the next time I'm in the city.]

food or drink, fionab?

what is a Moscow Mule? Don't remember this from the martini menu... or from the appy menu either.

Hey -- I recommended Subeez in the suggestion thread. But yeah, last night was fun!

Maybe we should have an Okanagan meet.

Hello to everyone who came to the meetup. It was cool to see people. Thank you seawallrunner and the others for tips on what to see while we're here. We've gone on a couple of good adventures already. I'm already looking forward to my next visit here.

I think an Okanagan meetup would be way cool. At a winery perhaps - or is that too cliche'?
posted by seawallrunner at 7:07 PM on October 5, 2005

An Okanagan meetup would be great. I'd definitely attend, provided I could find a lift with someone.

I could arrange something through friends at Quails' Gate if you'd like. They recently opened their new restaurant.
