Crazyness in firefox, odd redirects from askMe. [more inside]
I am using firefox and whenever I go to askMe, I am automatically redirected to all posts tagged with mac. Anyone else seen this phenomenon? I also have had an incident with the falluja movie link on the front page starting to dowload itself.
FYI I am running SUSE 9.1 and like I said firefox and no downloading programs that I can think of.

Huh I guess I am alone in figuring this one out. It just started a bit ago. Very frustatring as now I cannot actually ever stay on the askMe front page.

At work, I have no problems with Firefox on Red Hat. The usual weird Firefox bug advice:
1) Make sure you're at the newest release.
2) Clear your cache and cookies, and try again.
3) Create a new profile and try with that. (Start firefox with -P to get the profile manager)
4) You could try upgrading to 1.5 RC1 (or RC2 which should be released within a day or two). No guarantees that it'll fix the problem, but 1.5 is awesome.

It appears as if using the MediaPlayer Connectivity extension on firefox is somehow causing the issues. I wonder why. Oh well off with it it goes.

I'd just installed MediaPlayer Connectivity extension myself about an hour ago but I couldn't figure out how to make it stop loading a media player app when it encountered links to vids in pages (not embed videos but links to video files)(Coincidentally it was also the fallujah video link on the front page that was giving me trouble) so I uninstalled it. I installed it in the first place hoping for an alternative to the unembed greasemonkey user script, which stopped working for me when I switched to firefox 1.5.

I think I need to brush up on my typing skills.
Just type up your problem in notepad or whatever beforehand, copy, paste.
AND THAT'S, ONE TO GROW ON.
